自然素材のもつ美しさと機能性を引きだした空間づくりと、資源循環を両立させた住宅。地元産のタモと珪藻土を素材にしており、タモは再生材を利用している。リビングルームの南東には、毎月満月が訪れる高窓を開けた。

Standing in a heavy snowfall region, this house was built using locally grown ash wood (tamo) and diatomaceous earth, and half of the woodwork is recycled materials, achieving a high level of heat insulation by utilizing local natural resources at relatively low cost. There is a clearstory window set in the direction of the moon’s orbit through which the full moon can be seen every month. Mangetsu-kyo literally means the “House of the Full Moon.”
