ダンボール紙がもつ曲げの力と紙のもつ引張力を組み合わせて構成した紙の茶室。平行して2本のトンネルをつくり、片方は露地と待合、もう片方は水屋としている。その間に茶室空間を挿入して立礼席を設けた。席の前面は庭の見立てで、紙を透かした光がやわらかく茶室空間を包みこむ。

This tea house is built of paper by utilizing the strength of corrugated cardboards. Two paper tunnels are installed running parallel: the one is for the path to the tea room and the other is for the preparation space. Inserted between the tunnels is the tea room divided into two parts: the tea space and the white space symbolizing a garden. The natural light comes through the gaps between the sheets of paper and the space is filled with soft light.
